We are a global costuming fan group 600 members strong across the world.  The colonial marine outfits are our mainstay but we have predators and xenomorphs as well.  Our biggest group attends DragonCon every year.  Our focus is on the movie Aliens but we also include all the predator and alien films to boot.

"...The Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work..."

To Promote Interest in Star Wars
While a growing number of people are experiencing a reawakening of their Star Wars fandom, new generations are seeking ways to celebrate their passion for George Lucas's modern mythology. The 501st Legion brings these fans together, reinforcing the enduring longevity of the Star Wars saga.

To Facilitate the Use of Costumes
Some fans are content to collect action figures...other fans want to be action figures. Nothing professes your passion quite like building your own detailed costume replica of a classic Star Wars villain, and there's nothing quite like the feeling that comes from bringing the characters of Star Wars into the real world and sharing the magic with others.

To Contribute
While our organization was founded to simply provide a collective identity for costuming fans with similar interests, the 501st is proud to put its resources to good use through fundraising, charity work, and volunteering.

We are the Smoky Mountain Ghostbusters!  We are a nonprofit group who love Ghostbusters and love helping out our community. We attend local comic conventions, but our primary focus lies with charity work. We are asked to appear at multiple charities throughout the year including autism awareness, JDRF, Relay for Life, Hear me Roar, Children’s Miracle Network, Standing for Law Enforcement, and many others.  In December of 2017 we collected approximately 1,600 stuffed animals and distributed to first responders in the area to give to children to calm them in a crisis. “No job is too big, no fee is too big”....although we are all volunteers our services come free of charge. We want to make the world 10% better by putting smiles on children’s faces, young and old, all while keeping the ghosts at bay.

Pika 3

PikaFreakRachel was born and raised in Kentucky. She fell in love with the Pokemon games and anime and became a Pokemon Trainer at the age of 10 in 1998. Years later, and still a 10 year old Trainer at heart, she has a collection of over 5,000 Pokemon items mostly featuring her favorite, Pikachu, which includes one of the original 10 Pikachu Volkswagen Beetles, Pika 3.   Pika 3 was used by Nintendo from 2000-2006 when it was sold at auction. It was bought by a used car dealership and nearly destroyed, having the ears and tail removed, mouth and feet painted over, then left parked on the streets of New York until February 2012, when it was put up for auction again. It was love at first sight. Rachel bought the Pikabug sight unseen and has lovingly restored it. An avid anime fan, she now takes it to the many conventions that she attends in and around Kentucky.
